People dicuss their concerns and questions re downsizing

It’s understandable why people may feel a little apprehensive when considering downsizing. Downsizing is a big life decision that requires a lot of thought and consideration. Location, lifestyle, marital status, and many more factors come into play when deciding if downsizing is a suitable choice for you.

We believe it’s important to have all the facts laid out to make the best decision to suit your needs. So, we’ve addressed a few common concerns that people tend to have about Land Lease Communities.

Concern: I don’t want to feel forced to socialise or take part in community activities.

Truth: While many people are attracted to Downsizing Communities for the social aspect, there’s absolutely no pressure to get involved with community events if you don’t want to. Plenty of people love Downsizing Communities because they’re able to live a quieter, low maintenance life uninterrupted by busy streets and noisy neighbours. So, whether you’re a social butterfly, a humble wallflower or something in between, you can rest easy knowing you get to choose how much or how little socialising you want to take part in.

Concern: I want to have my own space. I don’t want to share walls or live on top of my neighbours.

Truth: Land Lease Communities feature free-standing homes with their own private garden space. You’ll have plenty of privacy – but your neighbours will be there to share stories, laughs and a glass of wine when you feel like it.

Concern: I’m concerned about the ongoing fees and costs.

Truth: While there are ongoing site fees associated with downsizing to a Land Lease Community, you’ll experience a range of savings that will make your lifestyle affordable. Some of the financial advantages of downsizing include:

  • Freeing up equity from selling your existing home
  • Lower bills because you’re living in a smaller, more efficient home
  • No stamp duty or council rates
  • Less maintenance and upkeep costs

Concern: I’m not old enough to move to a Downsizing Community.

Truth: Downsizing Communities aren’t for old people. They’re filled with fun-loving homeowners who want the freedom to live life with a full bucket – and many of them remain working full time or part time. Essentially, it makes more sense to make the move when you’re young enough to enjoy all the facilities and lifestyle-enhancing aspects. In other words – you can have your cake and eat it too!

We hope we’ve helped ease any concerns you may have about downsizing to a Land Lease Community.
