If you’ve reached the big five-oh and love receiving exclusive discounts or freebies for travel, entertainment and a range of lifestyle services, you’re in for a treat.
If you’ve never heard of the National Seniors Card, or if you’ve heard of it but don’t have one, here’s how you could benefit from it.
What is the National Seniors Card?
The card is part of the National Seniors Australia membership and you receive it once you sign up as a member. It entitles you to access a whole range of savings and entertainment offers.
National Seniors Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that fights to fix pension poverty, tackle the cost of living and health care, improve aged care and advocate for seniors in Australia.
It’s important to note that the National Seniors Card is separate from the government-issued concession cards.
What are the benefits?
With your National Seniors Card, you’ll gain access to exclusive member benefits and enjoy savings on everyday items, gift cards and major appliances.
From Specsavers, to Priceline, Myer and even Jetstar, there are savings to reap across a broad range of lifestyle categories, including entertainment, health and wellness, food and beverage, automotive, travel and more.
Combined with your downsized lifestyle, you’ll benefit from a range of savings and opportunities to live your best life.
Your day could look a little like this:
- After taking your morning swim in your community’s heated swimming pool, you head home to finally book those flights to Queensland you’ve been planning to do all week (Saving #1).
- To book the flights, you put on your new Specsavers reading glasses, which you picked up last week at a discounted price (Saving #2).
- For lunch, you meet with a friend at the local Coffee Club, where you joined the VIP Club at 50% off, entitling you to ‘buy one, get one free’ offers and free upsizes all year round (Saving #3).
- It’s your sister’s birthday tomorrow, and when you get home, you order a bouquet of fresh flowers to be delivered, with 15% off (Saving #4).
- To finish off your exciting day, you and your neighbour are heading to the movies to watch a new blockbuster, and you scored a discounted ticket and popcorn deal (Saving #5).
